HOW LONG UNTIL MY ORDER WILL BE SHIPPED?
All items will be shipped within 10 days of purchasing ! Sometimes this can take a bit longer but I only have two hands so please bare with me. If you do not choose tracked shipping, then I'm afraid I don't know where your item is once i've posted it, but you can upgrade to tracked shipping at checkout.
MY ORDER HASN'T ARRIVED, WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?
COVID-19 has caused postage delays, so please do not report a missing package to me incase it has been 3 weeks (UK) or 5 weeks (Abroad). I have only ever had 3 in over 1000 items actually get lost - others have just taken a bit of time! International orders are all sent tracked, but if an order within the UK does look like it's lost I will refund or sent a replacement. Many many times I have been asked where an order is when the tracking has said it has been delivered, so please check with family/housemates before messaging me.
CAN I GET A REFUND?
I will only accept returns with a full refund only in the case that the item is damaged and evidence of this is provided. I cannot accept general refunds because of hygiene reasons. As a small business I can't afford to give out refunds on a whim.
HOW CAN I LOOK AFTER MY PIECES?
Resin is waterproof but not meant to be submerged in water for long periods of time. Keep the hooks dry too to prevent discolouring. Try and not to leave your pieces in the sun for too long and this can discolour the metal findings, yellow the resin or fade the colour of the flowers. I recommend keeping pieces in a drawer if they're not being worn to make sure they last as long as possible! If you are taking a hot shower, do not take them off and leave them in the same room as you are showering in! This can cause the resin to go cloudy or fuzzy like safety glass.
*DISCLAIMER: I use 100% natural flowers in my earring - none are dyed. Because of this, it is inevitable that the flowers will eventually fade! I can’t do anything about this. All flowers are pressed with the same process, but some forget me nots may fade after 6 months and others after 2 years!
WHAT ARE THE HOOKS/CHAINS MADE OF?
Silver Findings - The standard silver earring hooks that I use are silver plated surgical steel and are hypoallergenic. The definition of hypo-allergenic is having a decreased tendency to provoke an allergic reaction. This does not mean that a wearer is guaranteed no allergic reaction. This is nickel, lead and latex free, thus it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction. I have found these hooks to be better quality than the ones previously used and I have been wearing them myself with no trouble. More expensive findings are sterling silver, and all silver necklaces are on a sterling silver chain. See the description of the item to see what pairs are sterling silver.
Gold Findings - All gold hooks and most findings are 14ct gold filled hooks, which are extremely high quality plating that will not tarnish or wear out for years! All necklaces are also gold filled, which is very expensive to source. In some cases e.g. with hoops, findings are gold plated brass.
IS SUGARPRESSED SUSTAINABLE?
I try my best to be sustainable with sugarpressed! The resin I use is from Resin8 and is vegan friendly and cruelty free. I package using cardboard boxes which are completely recyclable, as well as tissue paper.
I use only use completely real pressed flowers in my work! Many of then flowers are dried by myself from walks around Bristol and London, but I also often source flowers from UK sellers online and smaller businesses that press flowers for various crafts. I've sourced dried strawberries from Eastern Europe, dried fruit from Canada and dried pansies from Devon!
Pressing and preserving flowers is a long process but very rewarding, as you are keeping something that has such a short lifespan with you! In terms of literal sustainability, resin cannot be recycled, so I don't think I can label my craft as such, but I try as much as I can to reduce waste in all aspects. The flower confetti style is particularly good for making sure there's not waste.
WHAT DOES 'A % OF PROFITS TO CHARITY' MEAN?
After every couple of shop updates or so, I donate a percentage (5%~) of total profits to a charitable cause. This has ranged from towards PPE for NHS workers; various BLM charities; various female health charities; towards free meals for people who cannot afford them. After one drop I used money I earned from this business to directly pay two children's school fees for a year in Bangladesh. I'm not writing this for praise, but rather that I feel like I should be letting you know what I mean when I say I am donating money to charity! I usually post on my Instagram story when I've decided where I am donating that month. Sugarpressed is my only source of income right now, and I feel incredibly blessed that doing something I love is being supported by all of you. I feel really blessed to be in a position to be able to donate to causes that I care about, and honestly cannot thank you enough! If you feel that there are any causes I should consider donating to, feel free to drop me a message :)
